Day of Caring was held on April 23rd, 2024 and it was AWESOME! Here are some of our favorite photos from the event.

Day of Caring is coming up fast! Here’s the info you need to know.

We need adult volunteers to supervise/facilitate sessions!

Students should sign up for sessions by 4/19. The link will be shared on Canvas and you’ll be given time in class to register. If you don’t register, you will assigned to whatever sessions have room.

On Day of Caring, the session is as goes:
7:15 Begin gathering in Student Union. Pick up Day of Caring Tees if you ordered them.
7:30 Attendance + announcements + March Students of the Month in Student Union
7:40 Move to Seminar Rooms
7:50 Begin Seminar
8:40 Bathroom break and turn in Seminar Name tents/coachings
9:00 Meet in assigned Session 1
10:30 end of Session 1– sign teacher appreciation banner during lunch in 204.
11:00 Start of Session 2
11:20: Break
12:30 Start of Session 3
1:50 all campus clean up of activities
2:15-4:30 Clean Visitation rooms at OCS (limited to 12 students pre-registered)

Families can sign up to donate items here.
You are of course always welcome to donate items to the CHS Food Pantry, as a group will be organizing and sorting it on Day of Caring.

SESSIONS TO CHOOSE FROM

A complete session schedule will be posted shortly. As of now, students will get to choose from:
– Car Washing staff cars
-Making Fry bread for staff
-Making smoothies for staff
-Writing letters to legislators
-Making mother’s day/thank you cards
-Painting rocks to decorate community garden
-Replanting community garden
-Sidewalk chalking positive messages
-Making tie blankets for residents of Covenant House
-Making summer weather care packages for residents of Covenant House
-Organizing CHS food pantry
-Making senior hats + signs for graduating seniors (freshmen and sophomores only)
-Campus trash clean up
-Trimming broken limbs and doing landscaping in the courtyard
-Organizing and cleaning gymnastics mats and equipment
-Cleaning the art room and pugging clay for Mrs. Wall

By April 17, all Seniors should complete this google form.

Chugiak staff can complete this form to sign up for Fry bread delivery, smoothie delivery, and car washes.
