2023 Day of Caring

The 2023 Day of Caring was held on April 25th! We started the day with a cross seminar on the Ethics of Philanthropy. This was our fourth and final cross seminar in the Philosophy series that focused on Ethics + Morality. After lunch, we began the service portion of the day and each student signed up for three one-hour sessions that taught a new skill and served our community.

Sessions included:
-Making Fry bread to deliver to teachers
-Painting flower pots to give away as gifts
-Cleaning out the flower beds and getting the vegetable garden restarted for the summer
-Washing staff members’ cars
-Making and delivering smoothies with Partner’s Club
-Getting CPR certified with Ms. Bick
-Arranging flowers to deliver to Chugiak’s support staff
-Making tie blankets for residents of Covenant House
-A bonus session after school travling to the OCS offices to deep clean family visitation rooms and updating the games, puzzles, books, and DVDs for families to use.
