Day of Caring is another annual tradition for WDS in which students take a day away from classes to serve the school and local community. Students choose from a dossier of options based on their own interests. WDS teachers typically generate the list, so if any community members know of projects that can be complete at or near CHS for our 2023 day of caring, please email us with your ideas!
In 2022, some of the projects included washing teacher’s cars, planting sunflowers starts as a fundraiser for Ukrainian refugees, creating “birthday bags” for the CHS food pantry, cooking spring rolls salad to deliver to Chugiak Staff, making blankets to donate to Covenant House, doing trash pick-up, painting outside the auditorium, and replanting the community garden.
